BSCA: 2% traffic decrease

Brussels South Charleroi Airport registered 371,536 passengers in January. This is a 2% decrease compared to the 378,664 travellers during the same month last year.

The general strike in Belgium on Monday 30th January explains this result. The airport’s shutdown prevented the registration of some 18,000 travellers expected that day at Brussels South Charleroi Airport. Without the strike, the airport would have registered approximately 390,000 passengers in January, a 3% increase which is in line with the strategy of Brussels South Charleroi Airport to focus on manageable growth.
